The Kilnstone Coffee Table

This sculptural centrepiece is carved from solid 5-inch thick raintree wood, with a rich two-tone surface and a carved textured finish. The top is finished in a traditional shou sugi ban technique – fire-charred, then hand-polished with beeswax for a deep, natural sheen.  Finish: Textured and ebonised using shou sugi ban, beeswax polished.

Material Conditions

• Our furniture is crafted mainly from locally reclaimed hardwood. Made to last and designed to stand out with character and charm.
• Because we work with real, solid wood, no two pieces are ever exactly the same. Each one has its own natural colour, grain pattern, and texture that make it truly unique.
• Features like knots, small cracks, holes, or splits are a normal part of solid wood, they’re not flaws, but natural details that reflect the wood’s history and authenticity.
• Over time, slight movement between wooden planks may occur due to changes in humidity, temperature, or environment. This is a natural response of solid wood and part of what gives it life. It’s not considered a defect or reason for return.
